Ear:

  3. Chronic suppurative otitis media, classification pathogenesis & principles of management.

  4. Complications of Chronic suppurative otitis media and their management.

  5. Deafness-type classifications of various causes & management & deaf child.

  6. Secretory otitis media and its sequelae.

  7. Otosclerosis.

  8. Tumors of Ear.

 

Nose:

  1. Anatomy, Physiology of Nose.

  2. Rhinosinusitis-Clinical features, complications and management.

  3. Epistaxis – causes and management.

  4. Nasal Polyposis – Type etiopathogenesis.

  5. Nasal Obstruction – causes and their management.

  6. Tumors of nose, paranasal sinuses & nasopharynx.

 

Throat:

  1. Infective conditions of oral cavity and oropharynx – indications, complications and their management.

  2. Premalignant and malignant conditions of oral cavity their causes and management.

  3. Hoarseness of voice – causes and their management.

  4. Anatomy of neck spaces, infection of retropharyngeal space including ludwing’s angina.

  5. Causes of upper air way obstruction and their management.

  6. Foreign body in food & air passages.

  7. Tumor of larynx & food passages- causes, presentations, staging & management.

  8. Differential diagnosis of dysphagia and their management.

  9. Different diagnosis of Neck swelling and their management.

  10. Otolaryngological manifestations of AIDS.



 

Topics to be covered during clinical rouds:

  1. Introduction and welcome to the department distribution and basic guidelines of the working pattern of the department.
  2. Ear-Symptomatology – deafness, otorrhoea, dizzness, tinnitus, otalgia.
  3. Nose-obstructions, rhinorhoea, anosmia, sneezing, epistaxis.
  4. Throat-Odynophagia, dysphagia, throat pain, foreign body sensation change in voice and stridor.
  5. Art of history taking of ENT diseases.
  6. Ear, Nose & Throat OPD setup ; instrumnets and examination.
  7. Tunning fork test & hearing assessment.
  8. Indirect laryngoscopic examination and posterior rhinoscopic examination.
  9. Lymphatic of neck and clinical examination.
  10. Tonsilloadenoid resection and other head and neck surgery – indications, contraindications, positions, procedures, instrument and classification.
  11. Various surgeries of nasal septum.
  12. Various surgeries of paranasal sinuses.
  13. Rhinitis and classification.
  14. Anterior and posterior nasal packing
  15. Upper airway management – indications, procedures, positions, complications of different methods.
  16. Myringotomy – indications, positions, complication and risk of grommet insertion.
  17. Endoscopic procedures in E.N.T.
  18. Instruments in E.N.T.
  19. Radiology in E.N.T.
  20. Specimens in E.N.T.



Post Graduate Teaching

  • Teachers and post graduate students would work together in OPD and OT which provides continuous learning to the students.
  • Detailed orientation programme, personal touch for students’ growth & learning especially for surgical technique.
  • Seminar, Journal, article presentation, case presentation and assignments as formal teaching. Use of LCD OHP & slide projectors by students and teachers.
  • Temporal bone dissection laboratory where post graduate do their practice for various surgeries on cadaveric temporal bone.
